Job Description
Our Client is looking for a Head of E-invoicing Compliance to become the trusted authority on e-invoicing regulation and indirect tax — internally and for their customers.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the heart of a fast-moving startup operating across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll shape how compliance supports product development, go-to-market strategy, and international expansion from day one.
The Role
You will act as the subject-matter expert on global e-invoicing and indirect tax regulation, translating complex requirements into clear, practical guidance for both customers and internal teams.
You’ll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales, marketing, and support — ensuring regulatory insight directly informs roadmap decisions, country launches, and customer conversations.
You will:
- Own regulatory workstreams for new country launches (2-3 to 6 month launches)
- Define and manage the regulatory roadmap for international expansion
- Build and continuously improve the internal regulatory knowledge base
- Create high-quality written content (guides, explainers, thought leadership)
- Represent the business externally where relevant (webinars, events, expert commentary) – The “Face” of E=invoicing for the company, for Prospects, Current Clients and internal Product teams.
- Explore and implement AI and tooling to improve the speed and accuracy of regulatory research
What Success Looks Like
Success as Head of E-invoicing & Tax Compliance means becoming the trusted compliance authority across the business — enabling faster launches, stronger customer confidence, and clearer decision-making as they scale internationally.
You’ll build a deep understanding of our product and customers, take ownership of regulatory workstreams for new market launches, and quickly become the go-to person for e-invoicing and indirect tax questions.
You’ll introduce structure and scalability to how regulatory knowledge is captured, maintained, and shared, ensuring teams can move quickly without compromising accuracy. Over time, you’ll define the long-term shape of the compliance function — building repeatable processes that support rapid international expansion and laying the foundations for future growth, including potential advisory services and team expansion.
