Job Description

Location: France / Europe – Flexible working arrangements

Sector: E-Invoicing | Tax Technology | Regulatory Compliance | SaaS

Company: Confidential – High-Growth European E-Invoicing Technology Provider

The Opportunity

We are partnering with an exciting, fast-growing European SaaS company operating at the forefront of the global e-invoicing and Continuous Transaction Controls (CTC) revolution.

With a rapidly expanding international footprint, an established ecosystem of hundreds of software partners and technology reaching hundreds of thousands of businesses, the company is positioning itself as a disruptive force in the evolving e-invoicing compliance landscape.

Having recently secured multimillion-euro investment to accelerate international expansion, the business is entering a pivotal growth phase. Its API-first, embedded technology model enables software providers, ERP platforms and financial technology businesses to deliver compliant e-invoicing capabilities across multiple jurisdictions.

As governments worldwide accelerate their adoption of mandatory e-invoicing, real-time reporting and digital tax controls, the company is investing in the regulatory expertise needed to support its next phase of international growth.

This presents an opportunity for an ambitious Head of Compliance to take ownership of international regulatory intelligence and play a central role in shaping the company’s market expansion, product strategy and commercial success.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will operate at the intersection of regulation, technology, product and commercial strategy, translating complex international e-invoicing mandates into actionable business opportunities.

This is not a traditional, internally focused compliance role. You will help determine which markets the business enters, how its technology aligns with local regulatory requirements and how its compliance expertise can create competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • International Market & Mandate Strategy: Evaluate, prioritise and rationalise existing and emerging country markets based on e-invoicing mandates, CTC developments, regulatory complexity and commercial opportunity.
  • Regulatory & Legal Analysis: Research and interpret country-specific legislation, technical specifications and reporting obligations, ensuring alignment between regulatory requirements and the company’s technology capabilities.
  • Government & Regulatory Engagement: Establish relationships with relevant tax authorities, regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders to understand upcoming mandates, clarify requirements and anticipate market developments.
  • Market Intelligence & TAM Analysis: Collaborate with Marketing and Commercial teams to assess addressable markets, including business populations, potential invoice volumes, mandate timelines and competitive dynamics.
  • Product & Technology Collaboration: Work closely with Product and Engineering to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical, scalable SaaS solutions.
  • Commercial Enablement: Support Channel Partners, Account Executives and senior commercial stakeholders in developing compelling propositions, navigating regulatory questions and supporting strategic deal closure.
  • Regulatory Roadmap Ownership: Build and maintain a forward-looking view of global e-invoicing and CTC developments, influencing product priorities and international expansion decisions.

About You

We are looking for a commercially minded regulatory specialist who combines a strong understanding of e-invoicing legislation with a genuine interest in technology and international business growth.

You may currently be a Regulatory Associate, E-Invoicing Compliance Specialist, Tax Technology Consultant, Regulatory Affairs Manager or Compliance Lead, and be ready to step into a broader, more strategic role.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Approximately 3–5+ years’ experience in regulatory compliance, tax technology, legal research or a related discipline, including at least 2–3 years’ exposure to e-invoicing and CTC mandates.
  • A working knowledge of international e-invoicing frameworks, including clearance models, continuous transaction controls, real-time reporting and interoperability standards.
  • The ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical implications for software products and commercial teams.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for both technology and legal/regulatory matters, with an appreciation of the technical and commercial constraints involved in delivering compliant solutions.
  • Strong research, analytical and communication skills, with the confidence to engage external authorities and internal stakeholders.
  • An entrepreneurial, agile mindset and the willingness to operate in a fast-moving, evolving SaaS environment.
  • A commercially aware approach, recognising how regulatory intelligence can influence market entry, competitive positioning and revenue growth.

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to product management, product compliance or regulatory roadmap development.
  • Previous involvement in pre-sales, solutions consulting, partner enablement or enterprise customer engagements.
  • Experience working with international tax authorities, e-invoicing networks or regulatory bodies.
  • Knowledge of Peppol, European e-invoicing reform and wider international CTC mandates.
  • Experience within an API-first SaaS, fintech, ERP or embedded compliance technology environment.

Why Join?

An opportunity to influence international expansion. Help shape the regulatory and market-entry strategy of an ambitious European technology business at a critical point in its growth journey.

A high-impact leadership position. Work directly with senior decision-makers across Product, Technology, Marketing and Commercial, with genuine influence over the direction of the business.

A growing, investment-backed company. Join a well-funded, entrepreneurial organisation with an established partner ecosystem and significant ambitions to expand its international reach.

A rapidly evolving global market. Position yourself at the centre of one of the most significant transformations in global tax technology, as mandatory e-invoicing and CTC adoption continue to accelerate.

The opportunity to build. Take a hands-on role in developing regulatory intelligence, market strategy and compliance capabilities rather than simply maintaining established processes.

Interested? If you are passionate about the intersection of e-invoicing regulation, technology and commercial strategy, and are looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a scaling international SaaS business, we would welcome a confidential conversation.
